LINES OF AUTHORITY: This position is supervised by the Program-relevant Clinical Site Supervisor and/or Clinical Director. This position does not supervise any personnel; however, the position requires participation in peer review activities. The position may function in any of the Clinical Departments providing services to either children or eligible adults.
POSITION SUMMARY: The BHPP may provide multiple services to clients and families, including, but not limited to Case Management, Life Skills Training, and Family Support Services. This may include provision of supportive services to low acuity and/or medication-only clients. This position will be expected to maintain an acceptable level of direct service provision as measured by billable hours/service value.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The primary responsibility of the Managing Clinician is to serve as the point of contact, coordinating and communicating with the person's team and other system where clinical knowledge of the care is important.
2. Engages with the client, family and other involved parties through face-to-face and phone interactions and works with the client and family to build trust, encourage hope, and ensure ongoing engagement in behavioral health services.
3. Functions positively as a member of the treatment team providing medically necessary behavioral health services to clients and families.
4. Assists and supports the client/family in utilizing safety/crisis plans as evidenced by the progress notation in the record.
5. Participates in the development and/or monitoring of Behavioral Health Service Plans (BHSP's).
6. Assists clients/families in finding necessary resources other than covered services to meet basic needs.
7. Communicates and coordinates client care with family members, behavioral and medical health providers and community teams/resources.
8. Provides behavioral health covered services to clients when medically necessary and appropriate, meeting the agency's direct service standard of 1248 hours annually.
9. Maintains client records in compliance with Mohave Mental Health Clinic, Inc., ADHS, RBHA/health plans, AHCCCS, and Joint Commission standards.
10. Provides customer service to internal and external stakeholders, as evidenced by direct supervision, complaint resolution, and interviews with customers.
11. Participates in the Performance Improvement processes in the Clinic.
12. The employee must work well under pressure meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
13. The employee shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
14. This is evidenced through direct observation and interview with co-worker and supervisors.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
16. Able to effectively de-escalate clients using techniques as trained and outlined in approved crisis intervention models.
