LINES OF AUTHORITY: This position reports to the designated Clinical Director. This position provides clinical supervision to clinical staff that provide outpatient services.
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides direct clinical supervision to all assigned therapists and outpatient behavioral health staff. Coordinates and collaborates with internal and external customers. Promotes adherence to accepted clinical, operational and ethical standards as described in policy.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains oversight of client treatment and provision of covered services. Develop and implement with the clinical team, site-based services to meet client needs adhering to clinic policy and Joint Commission (JC), Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and Regional Behavioral Health Authority/health plan standards as evidenced by data and chart auditing. Implements program changes and monitors appropriate standards of care per policy.
2. Provides direct services, including psychotherapy, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, based on clinical and administrative need.
3. Manages service utilization and service value by monitoring staff direct service provision, caseloads, inactive and unassigned clients through review of monthly reports. Data will demonstrate compliance or progress toward compliance.
4. Provides individual and group clinical supervision in accordance with licensing standards. Completes supervision documentation for all supervisory activities. Facilitates the professional development of staff and monitors required training. Recognizes staff accomplishments regularly. Adheres to the progressive disciplinary process when necessary. Evaluates each staff's performance annually, completing required supervisory documentation throughout the year.
5. Recruits, interviews, hires and trains new staff in conjunction with Clinical Directors and Human Resources. Completes staff reassignment and hire requests. Provides clinical orientation to new staff, completing the Skills and Knowledge Checklist. Completes credentialing process of assessments and/or Child and Family Team Facilitation. Facilitates the professional development of new hires and evaluates performance after the first six months of employment.
6. Ensures personal and staff adherence to clinical and ethical standards and models professional boundaries. Maintains adherence with the Clinic personnel policy.
7. Participates in Clinical Leadership activities which operationalize ADHS, RBHA/health plan, JC and CMS standards. Provide training on initiatives, policies, forms and programs as evidenced by training logs. Collaborate with other clinical leaders to maintain a consistent service delivery system. Participates in workgroups, committees or other team activities as indicated.

9. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders and community resources as demonstrated by the development of working community relationships. May attend community meetings, agency meetings or participate in other collaborative activities.
10. Participates in the Performance Improvement in the Clinic.
11. Works well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines, at all times demonstrates cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
13. Able to effectively de-escalate clients using techniques as trained and outlined in approved crisis intervention models.
