Facilities Caretaker

LINES OF AUTHORITY: This position is supervised by the Facilities Manager.  Unless specifically designated, this position does not supervise any other personnel.

POSITION SUMMARY: The function of this position is to support all department functions and for overall janitorial services. A person in this position may be responsible for overall maintenance (plumbing, electrical, and waste disposal systems) of all facilities with Mohave Mental Health Clinic (MMHC), Inc. that this person is assigned to. A person in this position may be responsible for the transportation of materials or equipment for clinic purposes.  A person in this position may be responsible for routine vehicle maintenance, fleet maintenance, and routine diagnostic testing of vehicles.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. General supply service, as directed by the Facilities Manager.

  2. General janitorial service, as directed by the Facilities Manager.

  3. Filing all appropriate documents.

  4. Using the maintenance work order system.

  5. Transports materials and equipment for clinical purposes.

  6. Performs overall maintenance (plumbing, electrical, and waste disposal systems) of all facility

  7. A person may be required to perform routine diagnostic assessments of fleet vehicles and troubleshoot maintenance problems.

  8. Must have the ability to communicate repair requirements, as required.

  9. Running errands and delivering various correspondence and articles to other departments.

  10. Provides customer service to internal and external customers and stakeholders.

  11. Participates in the Performance Improvement processes in the Clinic.

  12. The employee must work well under pressure meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.

  13. The employee shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.

  14. Performs other duties as assigned

PRIMARY CONTACTS:

  • Outside contractors

  • Internal contact with peers, supervisors and managers

  • Frequent interface with assigned department personnel

  • Supervisor Facilities Manager 

POSITION REQUISITES:

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • Must have a valid Arizona driver's license and insurance clearance to drive clinic vehicles if applicable

  • Adhere to confidentiality standards of the organization

  • High school diploma/GED

  • Age 21 or older

  • Two or more years working in a business environment

  • Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

Preferred:

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Pleasant telephone personality

Skills/Abilities

Required:

  • Able to drive to different sites

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical tasks and vehicle maintenance

  • Must be able to demonstrate construction skills related to basic repairs, measuring and overall maintenance of aging and newer structures and vehicles

  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions given by supervisor

  • Excellent communication and listening skills

  • Needs the ability to work/make decisions independently

  • Service Oriented

  • Time Management Skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Requirements

  • Able to sit, stand, and walk for extended period of time

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Equipment Operation:

  • Construction tools

  • Operating an automobile

  • Telephone, fax, calculator, shredder, copier, computer

  • Operating Janitorial Equipment

Environmental Conditions:

  • Inside and outside environment with sudden temperature changes

  • Constant exposure to radiant energy

  • Air conditioned and/or heated office setting

  • Exposure to cleaning and disinfect solutions

  • Use of safety equipment as required for duties
